I can't say enough nice things about Leah!  Leah played at our wedding this month and was SUPER easy to work with!  She was always on time for meetings, prompt in responding to emails and phone calls, and even called me the day before the wedding to go through the bridal procession again to make sure I was walking at the right time!  All of our guests were very impressed - we chose traditional music for the recessional and then contemporary music for the processional, and Leah can do it all!  She is a true gem, and I highly recommend her services.

I have played many instruments throughout my life.  At 49 my next challange became the Cello.  I was very fortunate to have come across Leah.  I only was able to have five lessons with Leah before she had to return to San Franciso but she was able to get me started in the right direction.  I will always remember the techniques she taught me. Leah did a great job teaching this adult beginner.  I hope to continue with Leah next summer.  Thanks Leah!

I have been so fortunate to have Leah as my cello teacher! I have, in just a month and a half, learned SO much from her. She is incredibly talented, thorough, meticulous, gentle, kind, and has a real gift for teaching. I had been taking lessons from another teacher and since switching to Leah, have had to learn the basics, which I discovered I had never been taught. She takes her students seriously, respects their strengths and recognizes the the areas they need to work on and so with much encouragement, I have progressed alot! I have a long long way to go but I feel with Leah, I can and will succeed. Leah is not only an inspirational teacher, she is a phenomenal cellist -- a combination not to be taken for granted and not so easily found. She's the best!

Working with Leah was wonderful. I took lessons with Leah as an adult beginner while she was getting her masters in San Francisco. I agree with the other reviewers. Leah's teaching is such a great combination of loving support, technical rigor, and musical integrity. I took lessons with Leah for two years. My current teacher was very impressed with all I had learned under Leah's care.  Along with being an accomplished cellist with high standards, Leah is supportive and shows great care for my individual needs as a new cellist and respect for me as a person. She truly is fantastic.

Leah is a wonderful cellist, teacher and person. She knows the cello, is a constructive instructor with a wonderful ear.  Despite being 60+ years old I recently started cello and learned a lot from her. Very highly recommended both for adult and children.

The Metzler name is well known in music circles in Los Angeles.  When I heard that Leah was offering lessons this summer I was eager for my son to work with her.  Being a teenager (13) who has played for six years,  he was looking for extra tuition to help with his  upcoming LACHSA audition.  The fact that Leah had attended the school was very motivating for him, apart from the first rate tuition she gave, she also became a great informational  resource, she was the first person he had met who was a graduate of LACHSA, he could see in Leah the kind of musician he could become.  She inspired him to strive harder with his music.

I have received nothing but first-rate chamber music instruction from Leah.  She is knowledgeable and kind, but I think her best quality is her willingness to stick to a concept until it's absolutely right -- or at least until I know enough about the issue to make it right over time.  The peace of mind from knowing problems won't persist due to ignorance is invaluable. It is a testament to Leah's patience and thoroughness that I leave every lesson confident that I will tackle every obstacle!
